Frozen Lemon Shandy

This one is the original – when you want an ice-cold beer by the grill, nothing beats a frozen lemon shandy.  The first couple attempts at this used Bud or Miller, but we’ve found it works great across the spectrum of light beer.  And if you want to keep it pure Cincinnati, try making this shandy with a Hudy Delight 🙂

  • 1 Lemon Spikes
  • 12oz Light Beer
  • 16oz Glass

Place the Ice in the bottom of the glass, then pour the beer over the ice at angle to reduce splash and eliminate head.  The lemon will slowly start to mix into the beer as it melts, so on a hot day, you should notice the difference in the first minute or two.

For you quick drinkers, the single Spikes will often last for two beers – but the slush at the bottom of the glass is a nice treat all by itself.

Simple as that – Freeze. Drop. Enjoy!
